The Sad and The Happy

Well two big things happened this week.

First, sadly Izzy finally went to live in her forever home near Nashville. She has been looking for a forever home for the last two months. Once a year I let my French Bulldogs have a litter of babies. Izzy and Finn are from this years litter. My daughter is very happy that we are keeping Finn. We are not having any more babies in the future.

Second, my brother-in-law is coming to visit us and the states for the first time. He lives in El Salvador and I have never met him even thougn I have been married for 16 years to his big brother. He is coming in December to stay with us for about a week.  We will also be taking him to Maryland to visit his sister and her family.

The great thing about his visit is not only seeing him, but I get to buy all kinds of new stuff for my living roon. I have wanted to redo it for a long time.  My husband is always saying that we can paint the house later or buy new items later.  Now he is making lists of the things that he wants to change.  He has already started with the gradens in the front of the house.  I get Christmas early this year!!

Becca's Soccer Team

So my daughter, Becca plays soccer with Parks and Rec in Blount County. She has been with the same coach for 4 years. Her team is the green team in the co-ed division for 13-16 year olds.

Today they played the blue team. Before today's game her team was in first place in the league.
Usually they are in last place, but the kids on the team got tired of getting laughed at by the other teams.  So, they have been playing very hard this season just to get in first place. She even has a player from Alcoa High School on the team who thought that this league was a joke at first.

Well they were so confident that they were going to win that they let the other team score.
The final score was 1-1, but that dropped them into second place with 3 games left to go this season.
I asked her how she felt about second place.  She replied, "Second is good, but we wanted first to show the other teams that we can have fun and win."

All of the kids are on this team for fun not to have to win. They all think of each other as a family not as rivals. The tie today was a big lesson for the team.

No Biting!!

During this week my two youngest children have been at home for their Fall Break. Finn and Izzy are very happy that the children are home so that they can play with them. The puppies are learning not to bite when they are excited. When we walk in the house, the puppies come running. They jump up to lick us and crawl all over us if we sit down. The only problem is when they are so excited and they are licking us, they don't remember to not bite us like they do the other dogs.

When they bite we flick them on the nose and say; "No Bite!" You must remember to say it in a stern tone of voice. Matthew has a problem of laughing when they bite him at first, so Finn and Izzy keep doing it. Then when they bite hard, he gets mad at them and doesn't want to play anymore. Poor Finn and Izzy. They get so confused with the mixed signals. Becca is much better, excpet when Finn is standing on her back pulling on her hair. Hopefully, We all will get better at teaching Finn and Izzy NOT to BITE!!

My Fat Boy Finn

Finn was being a crazy fat boy today. He kept running back and forth across the house, then rolling around on the couch.  I call him my fat boy, because his tummy is so fat after he eats like a Budda statue.  His sister Izzy never gets that fat. Every time I call him Fat Boy, I think about the movie Alice in Wonderland, where the red queen calls for her Fat Boys.  Finn's mom is Angelina or Angie as I call her. She is a brindle pied frenchie. That means that she is white with brindle(brown and black) spots. She also has angel wings on her back.  Some people call it a saddle, but I think that it is wings.
This is Angelina.  My angel baby.
